O artigo analisa Antigonick, a tradução de Anne Carson para a Antígona de Sófocles, testando a hipótese de que se trata de uma tradução-ensaio. Para isso, avalia a categoria de "erro" como central tanto na história do ensaio desde Montaigne como na produção ensaística de Carson. Por fim, o artigo tenta compreender os erros deliberados de Carson como tentativas de transformar a sua tradução em um ensaio sobre a tragédia de Sófocles, incorporando o erro como método.

The article analyzes Antigonick, Anne Carson's translation of Sophocles' Antigone, testing the hypothesis that it is a translation-essay. To do this, it evaluates the category of "error" as central both in the history of the essay since Montaigne and in Carson's essayistic production. Finally, the article attempts to understand Carson's deliberate errors as attempts to transform her translation into an essay on Sophocles' tragedy, incorporating error as a method.
