A primeira impressão deste texto data do dia 01 de outubro de 1810, no jornal Berliner Abendblätter, publicado por Julius Eduard Hitzig e editado pelo próprio Kleist. O jornal teve uma curta existência: do dia 01 de outubro de 1810 até o dia 30 de março de 1811, ano em que Kleist viria a falecer. Nele foram publicados diversos textos do autor, incluindo o célebre Sobre o teatro de marionetes. Quanto à presente edição, foi adotado o formato bilíngue: primeiramente a tradução em português e em seguida o texto original em alemão. O documento da edição alemã vale a nível de citação, ou seja, apenas para fins acadêmicos e não comerciais, sem qualquer intenção de desrespeitar eventuais direitos da editora ou do editor. 

The first printing of this text dates from october 1, 1810, in the Berliner Abendblätter newspaper, published by Julius Eduard Hitzig and edited by Kleist himself. The newspaper had a short existence: from october 1, 1810 until march 30, 1811, the year in which Kleist died. In it, several texts by the author were published, including the famous On the marionette theatre. As for the present edition, the bilingual format was adopted: first the text translated in portuguese and next the original text in german The german edition document was used as citation, i.e., for academic and non-commercial purposes only, with no intention of disrespecting any rights of the publisher or editor.
